FC Porto’s Andre Silva scored an insane bicycle kick

International / Play of the Week / May 25, 2016

Sunday was the day of cup finals. DFK Pokal; the FA Cup; the Copa del Rey; you name it.

Things were no different in Portugal.

Champions, FC Porto, and third place, Braga, played in the Taca de Portugal Final at the Estadio Nacional. These teams, while being 15 points apart on the table, were only separated by two places.

This match was always set up to be a thriller, and it did not disappoint.

Braga scored twice in the first half and looked set for the upset victory. However, Porto’s Andre Silva wasn’t ready to go home after 90 minutes. That boy wanted extra time and then some.

He scored twice in the second half (the second goal coming right at the death) to launch the game into extra time. It would eventually go to penalties, where Braga would win 4-2.

Congrats to Braga on their win. But, you came here for a Play of the Week, not just a recapping of the cup final.

The 90th minute had passed and Porto launched a last-ditch corner into the box, goalie forward and everything. The ball was (barely) cleared out of the Braga box and then redistributed to the right. A cross was put into the box and, well, I’m not sure I can do it justice.

Just watch. Watch Andre Silva . And be in awe.
