Like Major League Soccer, the new NASL season is upon us as well. And Ben Speas is apparently seeking to remind us all that he was a college standout and a highly rated MLS prospect.

Hats off to you for this one, Ben.

In match day two of the NASL season, Minnesota United downed FC Edmonton 2-0 with both goals courtesy of Mr. Speas. The first was an incisive through ball that the diminutive winger finished off comfortably. But the second?

A turn of brilliance and class. Marked tightly by the Eddies’ defender at the corner of the 18, the former Columbus Crew attacker flicked the ball behind his marker off a throw-in and turned to receive his own ball in space with the keeper exposed. No second touch needed. Tap in goal to help Minnesota climb the table.

Eyeing a return to MLS, Ben? Keep this up!
